About Los Angeles Working K9 Club, serving Southern California

This message serves as official notification of an upcoming USCA IGP Trial hosted by the Los Angeles Working K9 Club. Tracking will be conducted on Friday, January 9, beginning at 8:00 a.m. in Irvine, with field conditions reported as excellent. The field phases of the trial will take place on Saturday, January 10, in Compton, with trial activities beginning that morning.

The trial will be officiated by USCA Performance Judge Debra Ann Krsnich (#47). We appreciate the region’s continued support and welcome members who wish to attend.

Private Facility Notice

  • This is a private research facility.
  • Access is permitted only for participants of our upcoming scheduled event.
  • You are not permitted to access this facility at any other time.
  • Unauthorized access or presence on the property constitutes trespassing.
  • The organization will prosecute any trespassers to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Driving & Vehicle Rules

Speed Limit

  • The maximum speed limit is 5 miles per hour at all times while on the property.

Road Use

  • Vehicles must remain centered in the roadway at all times.
  • Do not drive or park on road shoulders, field edges, or non-designated areas.

Plumbing & Irrigation System

  • The property contains an extensive underground plumbing and irrigation system.
  • Driving or parking over irrigation lines can cause severe damage.
  • Any individual who causes damage will be held financially liable for repairs, up to $20,000.
  • A previous incident occurred where a participant parked too close to a pipe, resulting in extensive damage to an entire segment of the watering system.

Property Protection

  • Do not pick, remove, or disturb any fruit, plants, or crops under any circumstances.

Tracking Fields & Vehicle Access

  • No vehicles are permitted on tracking fields without an authorized escort.
  • The only vehicles allowed near the tracking field are those actively involved in the tracking exercise.
  • Once tracking is complete and you have checked out, you will be escorted back to the designated parking area.
  • Independent driving onto tracking fields is strictly prohibited at all times.

Escort Requirement

  • All vehicle movement to and from tracking areas requires an official escort.

Alternative Option

  • If you do not wish to accept liability associated with driving on the property, you may park in the designated parking area and walk to the appropriate field to work your dog.

IMPORTANT TRIAL PARTICIPANT ANNOUNCEMENT. We look forward to welcoming competitors, volunteers, and spectators to our upcoming USCA IGP Trial. We want to share several important updates to ensure a smooth, well-organized event.

Tracking will take place on Friday, January 9, beginning promptly at 8:00 a.m. in Irvine. Field conditions are excellent. Please note that only competitors may drive to the tracking grounds. Spectators are welcome but must walk in to observe.

Once the trial officially begins, no corrective devices of any kind will be permitted on the trial field in Compton, per USCA regulations. If you require access to the trial field on Friday evening, please let us know, and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

We are grateful to Al Bañuelos for offering trial participants the opportunity to use his training field on Tuesdays starting at 10:00 a.m. Any fees or arrangements for training with Al must be handled directly with him and are separate from trial operations.

Saturday, January 10, trial check-in will begin at 9:00 a.m., with the trial starting immediately thereafter. Please arrive on time and prepared. The trial will be officiated by USCA Performance Judge Debra Ann Krsnich (#47).

So that you know, food and drinks will not be provided during the trial. Participants and spectators are welcome to bring food or snacks to share, and any contributions are greatly appreciated.

We thank all competitors, volunteers, and spectators for their cooperation and professionalism and look forward to hosting a safe, efficient, and enjoyable trial that reflects the standards and camaraderie of the USCA working-dog community.

📌 Check-In Requirements – Action Required

To help expedite the check-in process for the upcoming trial, all competitors are required to email the following documents in advance:

  1. A copy of your current USCA membership card
  2. Proof of current rabies vaccination
  3. A copy of your dog’s scorebook

Please ensure you receive all required documentation by January 5. For your reference, no reminder emails will be sent. It is the competitor’s responsibility to ensure all materials are submitted by the deadline.

Failure to provide the required information by the stated date may result in delays or the inability to check in efficiently on trial day.
