Please read below our general response to membership inquiries. To become a member of our Schutzhund club, you need to be a dedicated dog trainer and be highly motivated to achieve weekly goals. The most successful individuals are committed to practice daily, have the financial capacity to purchase equipment, dues, and related fees, are good students of the sport, and are open to learning. Most of our club members like to start training their dogs from 2-3 months. We encourage proper socialization, engagement, and basic motivational obedience. After the adult teeth are fully developed, protection training starts from 6-8 months of age. IGP training vs. pet training is very different. We work our dogs in high drive and look to keep the dog in high drive as the difficulty of the tasks is demanding on the dog, and many dogs get burned out or tired if they are not in drive. You are welcome to visit us and watch our training four times before deciding if we are the right place for you to train your dog(s) or not. We respectfully ask for a $10 spectating fee each time you watch our training, or if you wish to participate with your dog, you may do so as a guest for $75 for both phases. Our yearly membership fee is $500 per person with one dog, and for a second dog with the same handler, there is an additional fee of $350. A field fee is required for each training session and is equally divided by the number of participants working on that particular training day. If our membership is full, your name can be placed on a waiting list until there is an opening. There is no mandatory participation each week. You come when you can or wish but being regular helps you achieve your goals faster. And please understand, we won't train your dog for you. However, we will be happy to assist you in getting the hang of it if you are a beginner or want to get more advanced.I hope this helps address your immediate questions, and we look forward to meeting you and our dog.
